Mayor of Mansfield officially opens Bull Farm Centre

The Mayor of Mansfield, Tony Egginton has officially unveiled Aston Healthcare's new £2.8m Bull Farm Primary Care Centre in Mansfield.

The purpose-built centre on Millennium Business Park first opened its doors to patients in May 2007 and houses a GP practice and community services including podiatry and community nursing. It is part of an ongoing programme to give local communities better access to a range of health and social services all under one roof.

Eleri de Gilbert, director provider development and deputy chief executive at Nottinghamshire County Teaching Primary Care Trust said: "The new primary care centre at Bull Farm is a fantastic state of the art health facility from which we will be able to provide new and improved services for patients.

"The local population has for many years received good healthcare from poor facilities and the new building has therefore been welcomed by patients and staff. The location of the new building is a direct result of local people who influenced its siting and had a say in its design and layout."

Attending the official opening, Aston Healthcare's managing director, Dr Jim Heath added: "We are delighted with this new modern facility and the benefits it will bring to patients in this community. It provides a great platform for us to develop an extended range of innovative primary care services and we look forward to working closely with the PCT to deliver the best possible local patient care."

The primary care centre has been built through North Nottinghamshire LIFT (Local Improvement Finance Trust) Company, a 25 year partnership between the public and private sectors to improve the health and social care premises across the district.
